Most of us learn to answer “tell me about yourself” with a job title. I’ve been trying to unlearn that.

So this site is the other answer. What I’m curious about, what I’m building badly before I build it well, what I’m reading, who I’m rooting for, and generally what I’m thinking. I hope that, even in some small way, you find something here that is helpful.

What I’m into

Sport

Chelsea FC, the Thunder, and the Steelers. Any one of them can ruin my mood after a loss, so I’ve turned my frustration into an interest in how coaches explain a loss rather than the loss itself.

Moving

Running and cycling. I make the claims, and Strava keeps the receipts.

Stories with knights, siths and rangers

Star Wars — the dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. Power Rangers, unapologetically. And Game of Thrones: “I will take Ser Duncan’s side.”

Learning things badly on purpose

Spanish, cycling, electronics. I 'like' the stage where you're visibly bad at something.
